Ocean Treasures

Lots of nice shells on the beach today.

  1. I love shells! Although I've become very picky so I only collect the beautiful specimens. I now have a preference for these whelks (I think that's what they are called.) After I took this photo I found a really pretty white one.

    1. Have you ever come across those huge ones where people put them to their ears and say that they can hear the ocean's roar? I love those huge ones!

    2. No, never. Those are found in tropical waters like Hawaii or South Pacific islands or Australia ? I guess? Maybe Mexico? Not up here. It's too cold. I like to think of these little whelks as baby conch shells that got tired of Hawaii and set out on their own but didn't realize how cold it would be until it was too late. hehehe
